Traing This Saturday - 9/26

Hey All!

If you'd like to come to training, we will be walking the Dreamy Draw Bike path on the North Side of Squaw Peak Mountain. We will meet at my house at 6am, discuss some info about the upcoming Komen Race (if you're attending!) as well as some information from the latest Get Fit Seminar. We'll hit the pavement between 6:15am & 6:30am.

Click here for directions to my neighborhood. I live right across the street from Aunt Chilada's. Please call my house at 602.441.4814 when you get close and I'll give you instructions to find my place.

Hope you can make it! Remember - We're only 18 weeks away from Rock n Roll!!!!

Phoenix 10k Registration is Open! and other news!

I'm am very excited to annouce that the registration is open for the Phoenix 10k, taking place on Sunday, November 8, 2009. You can choose from the standard 10k OR you can be daring/crazy/insane like me and sign up for the Double Header (10k +5k!). It's only $8 more, and a great test if you're planning on competing in the Rock n Roll Marathon or Half Marathon.

To register, please click here. The team name is Lucky Devils. I did not establish a team password, so you should be able to register just fine. Of course, you can always call me or the support line for the web site to assist.

I hope you are able to join us. This year the Mollen Clinic is supporting the Walk to End Domestic Violence. If you know anyone who would like to donate to the cause, please send them to our team fundraising page. Click Here!

As a reminder, the Rock n Roll registration fees go up $15 IN TWO DAYS!!!! Be sure to use the Coupon Code GFCDEVILS to get $10 off either race. You can register at www.rnraz.com. You'll want the Get Fit Challenge Section and we do have a team formed!

We are slowly building our team for the Race for the Cure. Please encourage friends and family to participate in this 5k by joining us on the race course or making a donation to the cause. You can do either at our team page by clicking here.

I hope you're having a great start to your fall! I went walking this morning and actually noticed a nice breeze! We'll be walking this Saturday, so come out and join us for a butt kicking work out at Squaw Peak!

Remember - I'm here if you have any questions!

Training Day #4

So typically we walk at Tempe Town Lake on our training days, but due to participation, we are going to meet in North Phoenix to walk the bike path on the North side of Squaw Peak Mountain.

Please plan on meeting us at 5:45am at the corner of Dreamy Draw and Morten. You can park in Aunt Chilada's parking lot. For directions, please click here.

There is a bike path that follows SR-51. The total distance from the corner down the bike path & back is about 6miles.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hope to see you there!

Rock and Roll Code Now Available!

Ready to make the committment for the Rock n Roll Marathon or Half Marathon???

Our group code is now available! Instructions for signing up can be found here.

The group code also gets you $10 off your entrance fee no matter when you sign up. This comes in handy as the next price increase of $15 will go into affect on Sept 15th.

Please e-mail me when you've signed up, as I don't get a master list from the race organizers.

Also, feel free to e-mail me if there are any questions!

Training Update

Well, when I first set up the "every other Saturday" schedule, I didn't check for conflicts with holidays! As it turns out, we were set to train over all the major holiday weekends from now until the race! Because you really want to go walking at 6am the Saturday of the biggest shopping weekend of the year!

So, we will take a pass this Saturday and pick back up with regular sessions starting on Sept 12. Same time, same place.

If anyone would like to go walking this Saturday, I plan on walking the bike path on the North side of Squaw Peak Mountain. Just e-mail me and let me know if you want to tag along. It's a 6 mile loop if you start at my house. You can meet me in the park if you don't want to go the full 6 miles.

Don't forget to sign up for the Race for the Cure. Prices go from $25 to $30 on Sept 24 for adults. Check the official race site for pricing information for kids and survivors. The race is October 11 - hope to see you their!

Oh - and don't forget to sign up for automatic updates by entering your email at the top of the blog!
