PF Chang's Water Station - We Need Volunteers!

Dear Volunteer,

The Lucky Devils water station needs your help! You are going to have a great time as part of the P.F.Chang's Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon and Half Marathon team! Below you will find information on what and why we have volunteers, expectations and incentives, the schedule and contact information.


What/Why Volunteers?

In order to put on a massive event such as the P.F.Chang's Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon and Half Marathon that brings athletes from around the world and thousands of spectators on race day, we require the efforts of many volunteers. To efficiently organize the volunteers, we have volunteer captains and full time staff. Volunteer captains head up their respective area and are the direct contact to get information out to you. The full-time staff relays all the necessary information to the captains as well as all the behind the scenes coordination and planning to make this event happen. The goal for Water Station #24 is about 100 volunteers so invite your friends and family and send them this email.

Expectations:

The Lucky Devils water station needs your help handing out water to P.F.Chang's Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Half Marathon Athletes. The following link signs you up specifically for our water station, which will be located at the intersection where Washington St. becomes Curry Rd., and Van Buren St. becomes Mill Ave. Sign up today and SHARE!

Once you've registered, please email LuckyDevilsAZ@gmail.com to select your preferred shift. There will be three shift options:

* Shift A - 6:30am to 10:30am
* Shift B - 8:30am to 12:30pm*
* Shift C - 10:30 am to last runner**

*Note: We will need the most volunteers during Shift B.

**Note: The 2009 last runner took 5hr 30min from start time.

Incentives:

As a P.F.Chang's Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Half Marathon Volunteer, we will need some work out of you, but we try to make it worth your while. First off, all Volunteers receive an official P.F.Chang's Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon and Half Marathon T- shirt. You get to be up close and personal with P.F.Chang's Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Half Marathon Athletes and Staff on the track. You also get free admittance to the Finish Line Expo and Concert featuring Everclear.

Schedule

You need to mark your calendars for Sunday, January 17, 2010 and plan on setting your alarm! Your captain, Drew Seybold, will send you parking instructions and other updates as they come so make sure you enter your information carefully!


You, as a Volunteer, are a very important part of making this race happen and I am here to coordinate our efforts to give the athletes the best volunteers they can have as well as answer any questions you may have to make your experience with the P.F.Chang's Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Half Marathon a great one! Electronic Delivery of Packet Pick-up Confirmation Sheet

The P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & 1/2 Marathon Packet Pick-up Confirmation Sheet and Final Instructions Brochure can be downloaded below. Please be aware, you will not receive these items in the mail.

Please download the following documents so you are prepared for race weekend:
Packet Pick-up Confirmation Sheet (required for packet pick-up)
Final Instructions Brochure
Parking and Shuttles Brochure - check www.rnraz.com for updates (link not good!)

You must bring your Packet Pick-up Confirmation Sheet and a Photo ID to the Health & Fitness Expo in order to receive your race number, timing tag, participant T-shirt and goodie bag. Family or friends will not be able to pick up your race packet, so please plan your trip accordingly.

Pat's Run Registration & Shirt Update

The Lucky Devils Fund raising/ Team Registration is available! Click here to check it out. From this page, you can see who is registered with the team, make a donation to the Tillman Foundation and event join! There is a link at the top of the page that takes you to registration. You will need to create an account with Active.com. Once you select the race and enter your information, be sure to select LUCKY DEVILS as your team. The Team password is "godevils" I'm not sure if it's case sensitive, so try the other way if it doesn't work the first time!

IF YOU HAVEN'T ORDERED A RACE SHIRT:
Please fill out an official Lucky Devils Racing Shirt FORM to order a shirt for the PF Changs Races. I would like to place another order by January 4 to have enough shirts for everyone at the Marathon and Half Marathon so I need AT LEAST 12 shirts. If you aren't doing PF Changs, but want a shirt, please order NOW! That will save us time and money for April. I will do another order in April if the demand is there.

GET FIT Challenge Update

GET FIT Challenge Seminar #6

GET FIT Seminar #6 will take place at the Athletes’ Performance in North Phoenix on Tuesday, December 15th. Don’t miss this chance to see their incredible facility, and experience what it is like to learn and work with performance specialists and professional nutritionists.

The team from Athletes’ Performance will cover last minute training tips and race week reminders, including: the race week and race morning routine, nutritional advice for the day before and morning of, how to pace yourself on race day, and race hydration and calorie intake. The first 30 minutes will feature a presentation by Athletes’ Performance, and the second 30 minutes will include active drills with emphasis on form and analysis. Workout clothes are not required, but attire that is easy to move in is recommended.

Training Update

No training this Saturday because we are participating in the 34th Annual Phoenix 10k! There is still time to join our team. Just click on this link! The team name is LUCKY DEVILS and there is no team password.


The cost is $25 for the 10k and $33 for the Double-Header 15k. I'll be giving this a try as we're just shy of 70 days away from the Half Marathon!

Also - shirts should arrive on Thursday 11/5. Please send me your payment asap and let me know how you will be picking up your shirt.

Lucky Devils Updates!

Today marks 80 days until the Rock N Roll Marathon and Half Marathon. If you have not registered, you can do so here. Be sure to enter code GFCDEVILS to get $10 off your registration fees. Be sure to email me at LuckyDevilsAZ@gmail.com once you've register so I can add you to our team roster. We will be doing lots of fun activities the week before the race.

I am pleased to announce that our shirts have officially been ordered! We will have them in time for our next race, the Phoenix 10k, on November 8, 2009. Missed your chance? We will place another order closer to the Rock n Roll Marathon and Half Marathon. Prices may vary slightly to want people paid for this round, but I'll keep you
posted!

To register for the Phoenix 10k, click here. Our Team Name is, of course, Lucky Devils. There is NO team password. If you register before November 1st, it's only $20 for the 10k and $28 for the Double Header
(15k!). Prices go up $5 after that. Hope you can join us!







We will be training this Saturday, October 31 at the Tempe Town Lake Marina. Meet up is at 6:45am and we'll head out at 7am. We will meet on the North Side of the lake. Click here for more information.




Saturday is also ASUs Homecoming so I have to cut the training short, but feel free to push on without me! There will be lots of festivities at Old Main afterwards. All Lucky Devils are invited to the ASU Young Alumni Tent to cool down! Beware...the Parade starts at 10am!
